Rotary Club of Bangalore Signs MoU With School Education Department to Provide Desks and Interactive LED Panels for Government Schools

Bengaluru, Sept. 9: The Rotary Club of Bangalore (RCB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of School Education to provide government schools with modern classroom infrastructure, including desks and interactive LED panels.

Under the project titled “Rotary Interactive Learning 2025-26”, RCB through its charitable trust (RCBCT) will provide desks and 75-inch interactive boards for E Learning with UPS support in 100 government school classrooms across Karnataka.

The initiative, with an estimated project cost of ₹3.5 crore, aims to be completed by June 30, 2026. In case of additional CSR support, the programme will be extended to cover more classrooms in 2026-27.

Speaking after signing the MoU, RCB President Sukhen said that the club intends to provide a minimum of 1,000 benches and smart boards in government schools as part of the initiative.

Minister for School Education and Literacy, Mr. Madhu Bangarappa, lauded the collaboration, calling it a welcome step in strengthening public education. He noted that the department’s ongoing initiative, “Namma Shaala Namma Javabdari”, has already mobilised grassroots support through school alumni, and the Rotary partnership would further enhance community participation in improving education infrastructure.

Principal Secretary, Smt. Rashmi Mahesh; Commissioner for Public Instruction, Dr. K.V. Trilok Chandra; State Project Director, Samagra Shikshana Karnataka, Smt. Vidya Kumari; Rotary District Governor, Elizabeth Cherian; and other senior officials and Rotarians were present on the occasion.
