Bengaluru: Regarding the Maddur riot incident, we have already announced the formation of a fact-finding team. A team has been constituted under the leadership of retired IPS officer Bhaskar Rao. The complete failure of the police department in Maddur is evident, said BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra.
Speaking to media representatives in the city today, he responded to questions. He stated that they have instructed the team to verify the truth and submit a report. He remarked that a kind of Tughlaq Durbar exists in the state, and the current administration reminds one of the Nizam’s rule.
He warned that if the Chief Minister and Home Minister do not correct their approach, law and order in the state will definitely deteriorate, and the state government will be held responsible. He mentioned that he received information about a PSI being suspended for wearing a saffron shawl and dancing during a Ganesha procession. “Are we living in Pakistan?” he questioned.
“What is happening in our state today? How is the situation deteriorating daily? Law and order have collapsed; why has such misguided thinking come to the Congress government? What injustice have Hindus done to the Congress government?” he said, noting that countless Hindu activists in the state are questioning the Chief Minister.
He alleged that the Chief Minister seems to be surrounded by incompetent people. Hindus are facing stone-pelting and assaults. They are unable to celebrate Ganesha Utsav with grandeur due to the Congress government’s minority appeasement politics, which has been ongoing for the past two and a half years, he criticized.
Who Are They to Stop Us?
“Who are they to stop RSS, Hindu organizations, and Hindu activists in our state? Who are they to stop us from going to Chamundi Hill, Dharmasthala, or participating in Ganesha processions?” he asked. He challenged the government to take action against those shouting “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans if they have the courage. He said this government lacks the competence to do so and questioned whether they have the right to question us. He advised Madhu Bangarappa to properly manage his department, pointing out that government schools are shutting down. “What does he have to say about that?” Vijayendra countered in response to a journalist’s question.
Declare That You Are Not in Favor of Hindus
“BJP stands for Hindutva. Who are they to question that?” he objected. He asked whether it is not the government’s duty to maintain law and order and protect Hindus. He demanded that the Karnataka government declare that it is not in favor of Hindus and that Hindus must protect themselves.
Visit to Maddur Tomorrow
Answering a question, he said that tomorrow (Sept. 10) at 10 or 10:30 AM, he, along with Leader of Opposition R. Ashoka, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan, and other party leaders, will visit Maddur. He objected that cases against anti-national elements who pelted stones at a police station and set it on fire have been withdrawn. He questioned whether the police had no information about thousands of Hindu activists participating in the Ganesha immersion procession in Maddur the other day. Why were senior police officers not present there? Why did the police allow some people to enter a mosque? Why did the government create such an opportunity? he asked.
“They have done a deplorable job and now blame BJP for their failures?” he questioned. He alleged that Hindu activists going to Chamundi Hill are being stopped today, and the Congress government under Siddaramaiah’s leadership cannot tolerate Hindus. He said evil forces surround the Chief Minister, and it is a case of “perverse thinking during destructive times.” He added that, observing the statements of ministers around him, a situation is being created where Hindu activists are forced to take to the streets.
