Bomb Threats Sent to 40 Bengaluru Schools Spark Panic; Investigation Underway

BENGALURU : A wave of panic swept across Bengaluru today after as many as 40 private schools reportedly received threatening emails warning of bomb blasts on their premises. The emails were sent from the ID [email protected], and were received by several prominent schools across areas like RR Nagar, Kengeri, and Chamarajpet.

The threatening message, sent under the subject “Roadkill”, contained deeply disturbing content. The sender claimed to be suffering from severe mental illness and alleged that no one cared about his condition. In the message, the individual stated:

“I didn’t get the treatment I needed. Now, I want everyone to suffer the same pain I went through. I have planted bombs in your schools. You deserve this pain.”

The email went on to detail:

Multiple explosives placed inside classrooms, hidden in black plastic bags.

A desire to witness children getting maimed and parents suffering.

A final declaration that the sender would watch the news coverage of the blasts before committing suicide by slitting their own throat.

Preliminary reports indicate that no explosives have been found so far, but search operations are ongoing, and security has been heightened across all affected campuses. School authorities have also taken precautionary measures, including the suspension of classes in some cases and sending children home safely.

Police sources confirmed that the email is being traced and a cybercrime investigation has been launched to identify and apprehend the person behind the threats. “We are taking the matter extremely seriously. Ensuring the safety of students and staff is our top priority,” an official stated.

Parents and residents have expressed deep concern over the incident, urging the police to act swiftly.

This is not the first time schools in Bengaluru have faced such threats, but the scale and psychological tone of this message have made it particularly alarming.
