Bengaluru, March 6: Health Minister Dr K. Sudhakar has appealed to the people not to panic on the new H3N2 cases, that has shown signs of steadily increasing.
Speaking to reporters after attending the meeting of technical committee of his department, Sudhakar said he has instructed the frontline workers, health staff and doctors to take Influenza vaccination.

“There is no need to panic. We will issue guidelines as to what precautionary measures one should take. The situation is not alarming,” Dr Sudhakar added.
Wearing masks first by the frontline workers, staff and doctors may become compulsory following sudden spike in the number of cases.

According to Sudhakar, this strange variant H3N2 is found largely in children below 15 and in the elderly after 70.
