Bengaluru, April 27: Former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda on Thursday said that he expects a major change in the course of Indian politics after the Karnataka Assembly elections.

“I don’t want to say anything more at this juncture but I can see a very big change coming in the course of national politics after May 10 elections in Karnataka,” the former Prime Minister said while speaking to the media here.

Gowda disclosed that he is in touch with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Telangana Chief Minister K.C.Chandraahekar Rao. He, however, did not elaborate much on the issue.

On the outcome of Karnataka Assembly elections, the former Prime Minister said his party will get a comfortable majority and will form the government on it’s own.

“There are some people who give us two digit number but I don’t want to join issue with them. Let them say whatever they want to say,” Gowda added.

He said the Pancharatna programme conceived by H.D. Kumaraswamy has reached all the 224 constituencies and the people are convinced by that programme.

“All our leaders and workers are putting hard efforts. That will bear fruits. We are going to win,” the former Prime Minister added.

Deve Gowda took pot shots against both the national parties – Congress and BJP – when he said that both the parties are busy in scolding each other on ‘non-issues’ whereas the JDS has been taking up people’s issues.

“Both the national parties have nothing to offer to the people,” the former chief minister said.

The former chief minister refused to comment on the intensive campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other central leaders.
