Bengaluru, April 27: The BJP on Thursday found itself in a controversy over the issue of identifying sensitive and hyper-sensitive booths.
BJP election management committee chairman Shobha Karandlaje has written to all district presidents of her party asking them to submit the list of sensitive and hyper-sensitive booths and the places where Central para-military forces need to be deployed.
“If you delay the matter then it would be difficult to get the matter addressed to,” Shobha Karandlaje’s letter says.
Congress leader Siddaramaiah, meanwhile, has taken strong objection to this “blatant interference in the functioning of the election commission.
Who is responsible for conducting the elections? Election commission? Or @BJP4India?

“Who is conducting the elections. BJP or election commission? Who should identify sensitive and hyper-sensitive booths? BJP or election commission?. How can BJP usurp election commission’s powers,” Siddaramaiah asked.
He said his party has requested the ECI to ‘discipline’ the BJP which is acting in an extra-Constitutuonal manner.
“BJP cannot decide and identify sensitive and hyper-sensitive booths as per its whims and fancies. It is the task of the election commission,” Siddaramaiah said.
The leader of the Opposition said his party will formally lodge a complaint with the ECI against the BJP on this matter.
