Bengaluru, April 24: In an attempt to scale up the pace and intensity of the electoral campaign, the BJP will launch a two-day “Mahaabhiyan” starting Tuesday.
“About 98 central leaders and 150 state leaders will take part in this vibrant activity at the grassroot level for two days starting from April 25,” State BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel told the media here on Monday.
During this campaign that is to take place at the booth level, the leaders and workers will conduct door to door campaign, put up the party flags at vantage points, visit to temples and mutts and call on the eminent personalities including freedom fighters and emergency victims.
“This is expected to give a boost to the on-going campaign. We believe that a vibrant political activity at the grassroot level will lead to political and electoral advantage,” Kateel explained.

While Union Home Minister Amit Shah will take part in the campaign at Mysore, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will participate in the “Mahaabhiyan” at two places in Dakshina Kannada district.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to commence his tour of the state in the last week of April.
Kateel said after this mega campaign, huge rallies will be organized during the last week of April and first week of May.
“It is going to be a carpet bombing by all top central leaders led by Narendra Modi. We are going to create a tsunami in favour of our party,” the state BJP President added.
He expressed confidence that his party will get a comfortable majority so as to form the government “on our own”
In response to a question about Siddaramaiah’s statement casting aspersions on the Lingayath community, Kateel said the Congress never had any respect and healthy attitude towards the Lingayaths starting from the days of S. Nijalingappa. This is continuing. This will prove costly for the party in the elections,” Kateel asserted.
