Bengaluru, April 17: ‘A stitch in time saves nine’ is an English adage.

The BJP, perhaps, has taken cue from this adage to avert an impending disaster by giving ticket to the next of kin in two constituencies.

In Mahadevapura constituency, the party had given ticket to Manjula Aravinda Limbavali, wife of sitting MLA, Aravinda Limbavali.

It may be recalled that Aravinda Limbavali was angry after he was denied ticket. Though he may not have revolted his silence, however, would have costed the party dearly.

Now that his wife has been accommodated, the party can be rest assured of Limbavali’s pro-active role.

Koppal MP Karadi Sanganna had threatened to resign from his post as well as from the primary membership of the party. He wanted a ticket for himself.

Now, the BJP has given ticket to Karadi Sanganna’s daughter-in-law Manjula Amaresh, the MP’s feelings has been assuaged.

With these two contentious but potentially dangerous seats managed to a great extent, the party is now left with two seats to be settled – Shimoga and Manvi.

In Shimoga, outgoing MLA K.S. Eshwarappa has announced his retirement. It remains to be seen if his son Kanthesh is going to be accommodated or someone else will be considered.

In Govindarajanagar, the party has chosen Umesh Shetty, former Corporator. The constituency is held by V. Somanna, who is contesting from two places – Varuna and Chamarajanagar.
