Bengaluru, April 15: Former Revenue Minister B. Somashekar on Saturday lambasted the BJP for “hypocrisy, double-standards and deceptivity”.

“I have suffered enough humiliation and undergone sufficient insult during the last nine years in BJP. I am utterly disgusted by the shallowness and insincerity of the state BJP leaders,” Somashekar said.

Somashekar was the first person in the entire country to have introduced digitization of land records in his capacity as Minister for Revenue between 1997 and 1999 in the government headed by J. H. Patel.

A man of values and principles whose track-record is a absolutely unblemished, Somashekar said he was disgusted by the attitude of BJP national general secretary B. L. Santosh.

“He doesn’t have that basic courtesy to give time to me. I am 1983 batch MLA. I have worked under Ramakrishna Hegde and J.H. Patel. But this man’s indifference and negligence is appalling,” Somashekar added

He recalled that he joined BJP at the behest of both B.S. Yediyurappa and B.L. Santosh in 2014 but was never considered for any post.

‘At least, on the two issues of probity in public life and optimim utilisation of technology, Santosh ought to have taken up my issue with the Prime Minister. But he did not do, so,” this senior leader added.

Somashekar lamented that even Yediyurappa let him down very badly.

“I have not yet decided my future course of action. I will not join Congress and JDS. Let’s see what I should do,” Somashekar added.
