Mysore, April 7: The tragedy that has befallen on Dhruvanarayan’s family makes me to tell my party not to field candidate against Darshan Dhruvanarayan in Nanjangud, JDS MLA G.T. Deve Gowda said here on Friday.
Speaking to reporters after paying his last respects to Veena Dhruvanarayan here, G. T. Deve Gowda said it is heart-wrenching to see Darshan performing the last rites twice in a fortnight.
“Darshan lost his father Dhruvanarayan about a fortnight ago. Even before the pain started to subside, Dhruvanarayan’s wife Veena passed away. Nothing can be more tragic than this,” the JDS MLA added.
He said he will discuss with his leader H. D. Kumaraswamy to explore the option of not fielding our candidate against Darshan Dhruvanarayan in Nanjangud.
G. T. Deve Gowda, however, clarified that this was his personal opinion coming out as a goodwill gesture at this time of grief.
“Ultimately, I will go by the party’s decision,” Deve Gowda added.
The Congress party has selected Darshan Dhruvanarayan as its candidate from Nanjangud assembly constituency.
