Bengaluru, March 29: Former Minister C. P. Yogeshwar on Monday dropped a bombshell by saying that the BJP had internal, secret understanding with the JDS in about 15 to 20 Assembly constituencies in Old-Mysore region.
“I am aware of this fact. This understanding with JDS had the silent nod of the party’s Central leadership also,” Yogeshwar told reporters.
This statement of Yogeshwar has sent shock waves among his leaders and the cadre.

C. T. Ravi, national BJP general secretary, was quick to deny Yogeshwar’s statement. “There was no understanding of any sort with the JDS and there is no need for it,” Ravi added.
Yogeshwar further said that the purpose of having secret and internal understanding with JDS was to consolidate the anti-Congress votes.

Yogeshwar’s statement is quite contradictory to what Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement that JDS was also a number one enemy like the Congress.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Siddaramaiah was quick to say that “now, the cat is out of the bag” with the statement of Yogeshwar.
“Of course there was tacit understanding between the BJP and JDS. I have been telling this right from day one,” Suddaramaiah added.

On his part, former Chief Minister and JDS President H. D. Kumaraswamy has described Yogeshwar’s as “utter rubbish and thoroughly misleading?
“I condemn and dismiss Yogeshwar’s statement with the contempt it deserves,” he added.
