Bengaluru, March 28: In the on-going tit-for-tat politics between the BJP and Congress, the Grand Old Party (GoP) has organized “Satyameva Jayathe” rally at Kolar on April 5 which will be addressed by its leader Rahul Gandhi.

This is a tit-for-tat reply from the Congress to the BJP which is accused of engineering Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha.

“We will take on the BJP by its horns and we will take the fight into BJP camp head on. Rahul Gandhi has been punished for speaking out the truth. That is why we have named this rally as Satyameva Jayathe rally and it will be held at the same Kolar grounds,” Congress Vice President Prof Radhakrishna told The Newz Peg.

It was in the same Kolar Rahul Gandhi made a remark – why all thieves have Modi as surname – that put him into trouble. The Surat Court convicted him and sentenced two years imprisonment and the Lok Sabha disqualified him.

Prof Radhakrishna said “tu-tu-mein-mein” is common in politics especially during election time and the BJP ought not to have made it a big issue. “We are of the view that the BJP government at the Centre was waiting for an opportunity to see Rahul Gandhi’s back from Lok Sabha as he started inconvenient questions on Adani issue. Obviously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi could not have answered these questions. The result is to see that Rahul Gandhi is sent out of Lok Sabha,” Prof Radhakrishna explained.

Congress intends to mobilise about five lakh people to the rally and it is going to be the launching pad for its election campaign. The Congress party hopes that the Election Commission would announce the dates of the poll in a few days.

According to Prof Radhakrishna, his party will send a message “loud and clear” to the entire state appealing for “clear, decisive and complete” majority for the Congress party in order to form “a stable government” without having to bother on other party’s support.

“We believe that the certain victory of the Congress party in the forthcoming Assembly elections will pave the way for the exit of the BJP government at the Centre in 2024,” he added.
