Kannur, March.13: A man and his wife were injured in a bomb blast in the Kakkayangad area in Kerala’s Kannur district. The explosion took place under Muzhakkunnu police station area on Sunday evening.

Santosh and his wife, Lasitha, were injured in the explosion while his mother and children were in another room.

As per the FIR, Santosh handled explosives inside his house in a dangerous way, posing a threat to human life. The official information can be disclosed only after the inspection, police said. A case has been registered under Section 286.

As per reports, a similar incident took place in the house two years ago.

Kannur District Congress president Martin George said the explosion took place at a BJP worker’s residence and demanded a detailed investigation into the incident. “The fact that activities like manufacturing bombs are still going on in Kannur, which is having a peaceful atmosphere currently, is worrying,” he said.
