Washington, February 24: After an Indian Origin occupied No. 10, Downing Street, the official residence of UK Prime Minister, now it is the turn of an another Indian-Origin to set his eyes on White House.
Kerala-origin US businessman Vivek Ramaswamy has announced that he will launch his Presidential campaign for the 2024 elections.
“I promise to put merit back and end the dependence on China. I will revive the economy and take US to further heights,” Vivek Ramaswamy said, in his first public statement on Presidential elections.
Thirty seven year old Vivek Ramaswamy joined the Republican party recently.
Vivek Ramaswamy’a parents migrated from Kerala to US and worked at General Electric Plant at Ohio. Vivek made this announcement about his Presidential candidature during live interview on Fox News prime time show of Tucker Carlson, a conservative political commentator.
Vivek said, “We are in the middle of national identity crisis. We have celebrated our differences for so long that we forgot all the ways we are really just the same as Americans bound by a common set of ideals that set this nation into motion 250 years ago.”
Vivek continued uninterrupted, “That’s why I am proud to say tonight that I am running for US President to revive those ideals”
A second-generation Indian American, Vivek Ramaswamy founded Roivant Sciences in 2014 and led the largest biotech IPOs of 2015 and 2016.
