Bengaluru, February 19: Former Chikkanayakanahalli BJP MLA K. S. Kiran Kumar quit BJP on Saturday.
“I will join the Congress party on Monday. Before quitting I met my mentor B.S. Yediyurappa and told him about my decision,” Kiran Kumar told The Newz Peg on Sunday.
He said the situation and atmosphere in BJP is suffocating as there is nobody to listen to the woes of the party workers.

“The new organising General Secretary is politically and organizationally naive. B.L. Santosh is difficult to reach. I was having a feeling of being an orphan,” Kiran Kumar added.
He claimed that thousands of workers feel that they are orphans in the BJP as the leaders have their own ‘set of groups’ through they operate. ‘I don’t say that all of them will quit BJP. But the atmosphere is suffocating,” he added.

In his view, those leaders who have come from outside are being encouraged and entertained whereas original and genuine workers are ignored and neglected.

“In my case, Madhuswamy was brought to BJP. He will be given ticket as he is the Minister. In that case, I ought to have been made MLC for having been worked for the party for the last three decades. But that will not happen. A recent entry Baburao Chinchansur was made MLC at the cost of loyal workers. This preferential treatment to outsiders and indifference to loyal workers has made them seethe with anger which is intense and widespread,” Kiran Kumar explained.
He said he has met Congress leaders Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar and M. B. Patil and have assured him of ticket from Chikkanayakanahalli in the fourth coming elections.
