New York, February 10: Pulitzer Prize Winning US investigative journalist Seymour Hersh in a self-published report alleged that it was the US, and not Russia, which blew up the Nord Stream Gas Pipelines.
Hersh said that the US Navy divers planted explosives on the pipelines with the help from Norway.

Writing in his blog, Hersh said, “Last June, the Navy divers, operating under the cover of a widely publicized mid-summer NATO exercise known as BALTOPS 22, planted the remotely triggered explosives, that three months later destroyed three of the four Nord Stream Pipelines, according to a source with direct knowledge of the operational planning”
It may be recalled that in September last year, a series of explosions led to leaks on Nord Stream pipelines that carry gas from Russia to Europe.
The US and its European allies pointed fingers at Russia, accusing Kremlin of sabotaging them amid tensions with the West over the Ukraine war.

Hersh further wrote, “The decision to bomb the Pipelines was made in secret by US President Joe Biden to cut off Moscow’s ability to earn billions of dollars from natural gas sales to Europe.
The White House, meanwhile, has rejected the report calling it “complete fiction”. Kremlin, on the other hand, predictably endorsed the report saying ‘it is a serious matter and needs to be given attention’
