Vijayapura, Jan.27: Senior BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal has said that the BJP high command has asked him not to speak against the party’s Karnataka strongman BS Yediyurappa, and he will not make any public comment against the former chief minister, claiming that He has a lot of respect for her.
The former Union minister has been an open critic of Yediyurappa, who is now a member of the BJP’s top parliamentary board.
“They (high command) have asked me not to react on small issues and people. They told me- you do some respect, we know about you, good things will happen. He has asked me not to speak against Yediyurappa in the coming days, as he is a senior leader, I agree,” Yatnal said.

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, he said in response to a question, “When the high command has given the direction, I have to be soft (on Yediyurappa), right? Can I be angry all the time? I am talking about Yediyurappa here. I have a lot of respect for him, I will not say anything about him.”
When Yediyurappa was chief minister, Yatnal had publicly repeatedly set deadlines, claiming that the veteran leader would be removed from the top post.

Causing embarrassment for the party, he also made allegations of corruption against Yediyurappa, his son and state vice-president BY Vijayendra and other family members. Even after stepping down from the post of CM, he continued to openly comment against Yediyurappa and his son.
The Vijayapura City MLA was also served a show-cause notice by the party for repeatedly criticizing Yediyurappa and his government in the past.
