Hubballi, January 21: The proposed pharma park in Karnataka will not come up Niti Aayog did not clear the project.
This was confirmed by none other than Bhagawant Khuba, Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers at Hubballi on Thursday.
The pharma park was proposed to come up at Kadechur village in Yadgir district of Hyderabad – Karnataka region.
The Niti Aayog has, however, selected Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh to establish pharma parks.

Khuba said the Kadechur project failed to meet the requirements of the Niti Aayog on various parameters.
“I was very keen to set up this pharma park ever since I got elected as MP. But it did not happen,” Khuba, MP from Bidar, added.
It may be recalled that Karnataka government had signed MoU with Rs 2 lakh crores with various pharma companies during the recent Global Investors Meet.

“Now, we have to work out a different strategy and action-plan to see that the MoUs are implemented. I will discuss with the state government as well as with the Niti Aayog again,” Khuba said.
To a question about setting up of fertilizer factory in North Karnataka region, Khuba said the idea has slightly changed.
“Instead of establishing new industry, we are thinking of reviving and rejuvenating the old industries. Five such units have already been started,” he added.
