New Delhi/Bengaluru, January, 15: The two-day national executive meeting of the BJP commencing Monday at Delhi will draw up a blue-print and action-plan for the assembly elections.
Elections to the state assembly is due in April-May this year.
The national executive will take stock of the political situation in Karnataka vis-a-vis the growing demand of the Panchamasali sect of the Lingayat community for reservation under 2A category.
Basavaraj Bommai government tried to arrive at a via media solution by creating a separate 3D category but the same has been stayed by the Karnataka High Court.
Even the Panchamasali sect has rejected the 3D category offer.
Lingayats constitute almost 19 percent of the electorate and are politically vital and electorally crucial for the BJP.

The BJP national executive will have to work out ways and means to enable the state unit to wriggle out of this “potentially explosive” situation.
The national executive will also review the organisational preparedness for the elections with specific reference to formation of booth committees, page pramukhs (panna pramukhs), creation of WhatsApp groups at the booth level and the state team to micro-manage the campaign at the grass-root level.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, an expert in the art of micro-management of the elections, is expected to personally speak to the Karnataka leaders exclusively.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, former CM B. S. Yediyurappa, national BJP general secretary C. T. Ravi and State BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel will participate in the two-day event.
National General Secretary in-charge of the Organisation B. L. Santosh will be overall in-charge for discussions pertaining to organisational matters.
