Raipur/Chaibasa, January 12: In a targeted operation against the outlawed Maoists – CPIML – the Commandos of the CRPF launched surgical strikes in the districts of Sukma and Bijapur close to the border with Telangana and Jharkhand.
“Choppers were pressed into service. Targets were identified. We intended to attack the battalion of People’s Guerrilla Liberation Army (PGLA) and its Chief Hidma,” CRPF sources said.

According to sources, multiple units of Telengana state’s Greyhounds, CRPF jungle warfare Commandos CoBRA and Reserve Police of Chhattiagarh are involved in this operation.
“We have mobilized this force based on specific intelligence inputs. Our target is the tri-junction of Chattisgarh, Telangana and Odisha at the Southern tip of Sukma district in South Bastar region” a senior CRPF officer explained.
This massive operation has gone highly technical in the sense that the ground forces are guided by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), GPS data.

Meanwhile, a statement issued by the outlawed organisation acknowledged the operation that started at 11 AM.
Fear has gripped the entire area. Farmers are unable to go to the fields as choppers are hovering over the fields and CRPF men have camped in the area, Maoist statement said.
The Operation is said to be Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s plan to uproot the Maoists.
