Sultanpur, (UP), December 26: “My son died of excessive drinking. My young daughter-in-law became widow. I know the pain of losing a son. Don’t marry off your daughters/sisters to drunkards.”
This is the statement of none other than Union Minister of State for Housing Kaushal Kishore.
Speaking at an event organized by a de-addiction center, Kaushal Kishore said his son fell into bad company and took to drinking.
“What started as a social drinking became a habit that, in turn, became severe addiction. This is dangerous in the long run,” the Union Minister added.
In his view it is extremely difficult to come out of drinking habit no matter how many times you get admitted to de-addiction Centre.

“My son was in de-addiction Centre for more than two years at different point in time. He will be alright if he is in the de-addiction centre but once he came out, he resumed drinking in a much bigger scale. This is very bad,” Kaushal Kishore explained.
He said he and his wife are trying to console their daughter-in-law but they are finding it difficult.
“We plan to initiate her into spirituality. We don’t have any problem if she wants to get re-married. But it is most unfortunate that she became widow at an young age. It’s all our fault. We ought to have been more careful before marrying off my son to this girl,” Kaushal Kishore signed off.
