Bangalore, Dec 19: Karnataka BJP will emulate Gujarat model of electioneering not only to retain power but also to increase its vote share in the 2023 Assembly elections.
“Gujarat model of electioneering is unique and has many important components. It is meticulous as well as elaborate. It involves both micro as well as macro management of the party’s election machinery,” State BJP General Secretary and MLC N. Ravi Kumar said in an exclusive chat with The Newz Peg on Sunday late night before leaving for Belagavi.
Ravi Kumar said in the month of January booth committee meetings will be held at the district and mandal level in order to galvanise the cadre at te grass-root level. This includes the meeting of the Panna Pramukhs (Page Leaders) which will be attended by state office bearers.
“A booth will have an approximate 1350 votes that will be spread across 75 pages with each page having 15 names with photographs. We are in the process of appointing pramkhs for each page who will be exclusively in-charge of his page. The page pramukh will have five associates who will visit the homes and persuade the voters to vote for BJP. This Panna Pramkuh (Page Pramukh) has proved to be great advantage in Gujarat,” Ravi Kumar explained.
After a meticulous and elaborate preparation of the party election machinery at the grass-root level in the month of January, the month of February will see the BJP holding seven mega conferences of the beneficiaries of various schemes of both the Union and State governments in different parts of the state. “This includes farmers, women, SC, STs, OBCs and youths. We are planning to invite Central leaders to address these conferences,” Ravi Kumar said.
These outreach programmes will take the achievements and performance of the State and Union governments to the people during the house-to-house contact. “We will also take up national issues and corner the Opposition Congress on the issue of terrorism and their covert support to suspected terrorists like those accused in the Mangalore cooker blast case,” Ravi Kumar added.
