Bengaluru, Nov. 24: In a massive operation by the Karnataka Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths swooped down as many as 15 state government officials and over 60 locations allegedly belonging to these officials across the state on Wednesday, a senior ACB official said here.
According to the note released by the ACB here, ACB has conducted searches in 60 places with respect to disproportionate assets cases registered against these 15 officers by separate teams led by eight Superintendent of Police (SPs) and 100 officers along with 300 staff members.
In these raids the ACB officials have recovered huge stash of gold, silver and platinum jewellery, huge stash of documents of immovable and moveable properties were recovered.
These raids were primarily conducted in Belagavi. Kalaburagi, Mandya, Mangaluru and Bengaluru districts in the state,
“We are still in the process of assessing the total value of properties and jewelleries seized during the raids. As raid in 60 locations are still on and search teams are collecting and collating the required data and evidences to prove that these officials had possessed assets disproportionate to their known source of income. All in all 408 sleuths were roped in to carry out simultaneous raids on these locations,” the note said.
The ACB identified the accused officials as – K. S. Lingegowda, Executive Engineer, Smart City project, Mangaluru, Srinivas. K. Executive Engineer, Hemavathi Left Bank Canal (HLBC) project, Mandya, Lakshminarashimaiah.
