Belagavi,September 7: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday announced that Janotsava convention of the government scheduled to be held on Thursday is postponed to September 11.
The chief minister said “The janotsava programme stands postponed as three-day mourning has been declared by the government till September 9, in the wake of death of Minister Umesh Katti”.
All the official programmes of the government are also cancelled for three days, Bommai added.
It may be mentioned that “BJP had announced to hold Janotsava conventions to celebrate one year in office of CM Basavaraj Bommai”.

It is for the second time that the convention has been postponed as it was postponed earlier due to the deteriorating law and order conditions in the State due to the back to back murder of three youths, especially in the coastal district of Dakshina Kannada.
