Bengaluru: The governance of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi, marked by corruption, haf frustrated the people because of which the Delhi electorate have extended massive support to the BJP after witnessing the development-oriented governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking to the media about the Delhi election results here on Saturday, he said that after thirty years, the BJP has captured power in Delhi. The voters of Delhi had initially supported AAP, inspired by Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement. However, they have now grown frustrated with AAP’s governance, which has been riddled with corruption. On the other hand, across the country, people have recognised and supported Modi’s development agenda in large numbers.

He slammed AAP for constantly lying, with many of its ministers involved in corruption, and for blaming others for their own failures. The AAP failed to provide proper roads and drinking water and has not implemented the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which has disappointed the poor.

Commenting on Congress, Bommai saif mere slogans cannot sustain governance. In the 21st century, young people are observant and aware. Congress cannot win people’s hearts simply through empty promises; it must understand the sentiments of the common people.

The former CM further explained that Delhi is a city-state, and in its outskirts, farmers, Haryana’s Jats, people from Punjab, migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, and various minority communities have supported the BJP. Many minorities who believe in nationalism have also voted for the BJP.

Regarding the overall election results in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Delhi, the BJP MP noted that these outcomes have strengthened the BJP. Additionally, they are likely to create more confusion within the INDIA alliance. The AAP leaders have claimed that Congress attempted to defeat them, which suggests that internal conflicts within the INDIA alliance will intensify, he added.
