Belagavi: A major controversy has erupted in Karnataka after banners allegedly depicting a distorted map of India were spotted in Belagavi. The banners, reportedly put up in the name of Mahatma Gandhi and the Congress, have drawn sharp criticism for omitting Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) from the map of India.

Critics have accused the Congress of engaging in treasonous acts for political appeasement and personal gains. Many are questioning the party’s intent and regard it as a betrayal of national integrity.

Political opponents and citizens alike are demanding immediate action from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to remove the contentious banners and hold the responsible individuals accountable for this alleged distortion of India’s map.

A controversy has erupted in Belagavi ahead of the centenary celebrations of the 1924 event, which was held under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. Banners welcoming the ‘Gandhi Bharat’ program have sparked outrage due to a distorted map of India depicted on them.

The issue has drawn strong criticism from former BJP legislators and activists, who took to social media to voice their anger, claiming that such distortions of India’s map are typically seen only in Pakistan and China. Social media posts have condemned the Congress leaders for the apparent disrespect shown through the altered map.
