Channapatna/Ramanagara: Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda predicted that the Congress government in the state would not complete its full term.
Campaigning in S.M. Halli for NDA candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy, the former Prime Minister urged voters, “By supporting Nikhil Kumaraswamy, you are strengthening both Prime Minister Modi and HD Kumaraswamy.”
Deve Gowda sharply criticized Congress’s behavior and culture, stating, “This government is exploiting the people in every possible way. Such a government should not remain in power; it is not beneficial for the people.”
“We Will Ensure the Mekedatu Project is taken up and completed”

Deve Gowda expressed doubt that the Congress party would be able to implement the Mekedatu project. “If Nikhil Kumaraswamy wins, we will fight in both the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha and make a sincere effort to bring the Mekedatu project to fruition,” he promised.
Criticizing the I.N.D.I.A. alliance, Deve Gowda remarked, “Is there a single leader in their alliance who can become Prime Minister? Can Stalin or Mamata Banerjee become Prime Minister?”
Questioning Congress’s five guarantees, the former Prime Minister commented, “Work must be done with diligence. These guarantees are failing to meet public expectations, and the government will not be able to sustain them for long.”
He added, “It is wrong to toy with people’s sentiments by making shallow promises. We should, instead, strengthen the socially and economically weaker sections. I am committed to bringing the Kadugolla and Besta communities into the Scheduled Tribes category. I have already discussed this with Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.”

For the fifth consecutive day, former Prime Minister Deve Gowda campaigned for Nikhil Kumaraswamy, conducting an intense campaign on Saturday in S.M. Halli, Malur town, Chekkare, Mattikere, Mudigere and Basavanagudi circle.
Recalling his early steps in Channapatna politics in 1957, he said, “Back then, I approached Varadey Gowda to contest against Congress.”
Former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwath Narayan praised Deve Gowda as a friend of the poor and farmers. He highlighted Deve Gowda’s contributions to major projects across Karnataka, especially emphasizing the Satthegala project and Kumaraswamy’s foresight in local irrigation initiatives.
Former MLA Nisarga Narayanaswamy, Hassan MLA Swaroop, former MLA Magadi Manjunath, Rajya Sabha BJP MP Lahar Singh along with senior BJP and JDS leaders were present.
