Uttar Pradesh, June 02: An officer from Uttar Pradesh has been suspended over a photo of Osama bin Laden in his office. Officer had ‘described’ Al-Qaeda terrorist as “world’s best junior engineer”.
Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd’s sub-divisional officer Ravindra Prakash Gautam is the suspended officer. His office had a photo of Osama with a message which read as “Respected Osama bin Laden, world’s best junior engineer”.
A social media post about this went viral on social media which resulted in suspension of Ravindra Prakash. Osama’s photo was later removed by the office staff.
Farrukhabad District Magistrate Sanjay Kumar Singh has said that, DVVNL’s MD ordered an inquiry and suspended SDO Ravindra Prakash Gautam.
After the suspension, Ravindra defended himself. “Anyone can be anyone’s inspiration or idol. Osama was the best junior engineer of the world. That picture might’ve been removed from my office, but I have several copies of them” he said.
