Instructions to allot to other eligible beneficiaries in case of reluctance of beneficiaries: Zameer Ahmed Khan

Bengaluru, July. 18: Housing and Minorities Welfare Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan has initiated meetings with legislators of constitution-wise across the State to complete the housing projects in a time-bound manner.
The minister, who held a meeting with two ministers and 15 MLAs at Vikasa Soudha on Tuesday, held it with the officials in the presence of the MLAs on the housing schemes being implemented by the Housing Board, Slum Development Board, and Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation. He directed them to take stock of the status of the projects and complete the project in a time-bound manner.
Also, he asked officials to write to in-charge ministers of all the districts regarding the implementation of the housing schemes under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana, which is being implemented jointly by the Central Government and the State Government, houses allotted to each district and assembly constituency-wise and the remaining houses.

The district-in-charge ministers must be requested to furnish a list of beneficiaries through the gram sabha as soon as possible. Of the target of 41 lakh houses, a list of 71,000 beneficiaries is not ready. The list must be sent by the end of this month.
He directed the Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat to prepare a proposal in consultation with the local MLAs on whether it is possible to prepare a list of other eligible persons in cases where the beneficiaries have not been disbursed, due to apathy of the beneficiaries, non-payment of beneficiaries and in the blocked cases.
.Most of the MLAs who attended the meeting requested for an increase in the subsidy given by the state government for the construction of houses. He opined that it would be beneficial if the amount was increased even if fewer houses were given. The minister assured that he would discuss the matter with the chief minister.

Animal Husbandry Minister K. Venkatesh, Labour Minister Santosh Lad, Former minister H. D. Revanna, Appaji Nadagouda, Chief Whip Ashok Pattan, Dr. Ajay Singh, Suresh Babu, Hampanagouda Badarli, Raghavendra Hitnal, Ramesh Bandi Siddegowda, Gubbi Srinivas, Konareddy, Subba Reddy, Latha Mallikarjuna, Dr. B.R. Srinivas, Krishna Nayak, and Nemiraj Nayak attended the meeting.
The minister also took stock of the steps taken in the earlier meeting with mlAs of Ramanagara, Channapatna, Kunigal, Magadi, Nelamangala, and Shanthinagar Anekal constituencies.
Slum Development Board Commissioner Venkatesh, Chief Engineer Balaraju, Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation Managing Director Susheelamma, Chief Engineer Sanna Chittaiah, Housing Board Chief Engineer Sharanappa Sulaganti, and others were present.
