Bengaluru, May 22: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday launched a tirade against the BJP government at the Centre for making false claims of normalcy having returned to her state.

The fact of the matter is that there is a heavy military presence in the entire state. My state is the most militarized state in India after abrogation of Article 370,” Mehbooba said, while speaking to reporters here.

Mehbooba Mufti was in Bangalore to take part in the swearing-in ceremony of Siddaramaiah and D.K.Shiva Kumar on Saturday.

Mehbooba charged the BJP government of changing the logo of G20 and replaced with Lotus, the symbol of BJP and accused the Centre of claiming that normalcy has returned to the state.

It may be noted that G20 summit is scheduled to be held in Srinagar from May 22 to May 24.

She alleged that the Modi’s decision regarding Kashmir have eventually resulted in China’s intervention.

“I hope the SAARC will take note of the happenings in the valley and find some lasting solution,” the PDP chief said and added, “I will never contest the Assembly elections till Article 370 is restored”

Commenting on the thumping victory of the Congress in Karnataka, Mehbooba Mufti said the Congress must reach out to smaller parties to ensure a united contest against BJP in the 2024 parliamentary elections.

“Karnataka has shown that it is possible to defeat Modi and BJP with right strategy and correct approach,” the former J & K chief minister added.
