Bengaluru, May 19: CM-designate Siddaramaiah has described the Centre’s decision to withdraw Rs 2000 note as “desperate” attempt to divert the attention of the people from its failures.
“In a tweet, Siddaramaiah – who has to his credit of presenting budget a record 14 times – said the BJP government is clueless and without clarity on the issue of economy.
Another note ban by @narendramodi.

Sad that the @BJP4India govt does not have clarity about their own policies.
Why did they introduce ₹2,000 notes in 2016 if they had plans to ban it?

“If the Centre withdraws Ra 2000 notes now, then what was the logic and reason to have introduced in 2016. It looks like that the Centre is not aware of the intricacies of note ban issue,” Siddaramaiah added.
As reported, the Centre on Friday has announced the withdrawal of Rs 2000 note from circulation. “The people, however, can exchange the Rs 2000 note in the banks till September 30,” the RBI press release stated.

Siddaramaiah has questioned the rationality of giving time of five months to exchange the notes.
“I am unable to understand the explanation given by the RBI and the Union Ministry of Finance. They say the notes have been withdrawn from circulation but it is not demonetization. Then what does withdrawl of notes means. This is all unconvincing. There is no clarity,” Siddaramaiah explained.
He said, “The only thing that is clear in this decision to withdraw Rs 2000 note is that the BJP government at the Centre wants to divert the attention of the people from its failures.”
