Bengaluru, May 17: “It’s final. Siddaramaiah will become CM. Announcement will be made in a few minutes,” said Mahila Congress President Pushpa Amarnath.
Immediately Siddaramaiah’s supporters started celebrations throughout the state.

However this joy was short-lived as AICC General Secretary Randip Singh Surjewala announced that no decision has been arrived at about the next Chief Minister.
“We will announce it in about a day or so,” Surjewala said, thus pouring cold water on the enthusiasm and celebration of Siddaramaiah’s supporters

As it turned out, several hectic parleys continued in AICC to find a solution to the vexed problem
KPCC President D. K. Shivakumar continued to assert on the sound logic that “as KPCC President he delivered and now he deserved the CM post”

Siddaramaiah, on his part, maintains that he enjoys the support of the maximum number of MLAs and hence he should be given the opportunity to occupy the CM post.
Meanwhile, KPCC sources told The Newz Peg that the leadership has pulled up Pushpa Amarnath for briefing the media on the selection of Siddaramaiah as chief minister.
“Pushpa Amarnath has no power or authority to make the announcement. She has been pulled up and told not to make any statements to the media on the issue of the choice of Chief Minister,” KPCC office bearer told The Newz Peg.
