Delhi, March 18: Dismissing allegations of vendetta politics, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar today said Kumaraswamy did not have to worry if he was not involved in any encroachment.

Replying to reporters’ queries at Karnataka Bhawan in New Delhi, he said, “If Kumaraswamy says he hasn’t encroached anything or stolen anything, then he has not. There would be documents for everything. Why should he get worried? What has this got to do with Siddaramaiah and Kumaraswamy?”

Asked about Kumaraswamy’s statement that he was a victim of vendetta politics of Congress party, the DCM said, “Siddaramaiah and I never do vendetta politics. Court orders have been followed. We don’t have anything to do with it. Some one has filed a PIL and the Courts have rebuked officials for not taking any action. The officials have surveyed the land in view of the court deadline.”

“How can officials survey the land without giving notice? Don’t know why his officials have written a letter asking us to take back the excess land. He has said that he has documents about us and that he will expose us. Let him do it. He had accused me of forcibly getting signatures from a land owner. No one would sign without any formal transaction. If they are so confident, let them get a case filed from the victim. There have been a lot of PILs against me too,” he said.

“He has made many accusations against me too. He had cast aspersions that I had stolen granite. He got my wife, sister and brother investigated. He keeps accusing the Congress party. If he has not done anything wrong, he will have his land. Else, he will lose it,” he added.

Asked about Kumaraswamy’s allegation of corruption in Greater Bengaluru, he said, “We have decided to give a new shape to the Ramanagara district which gave a new lease of life to him. He is politicising it. We have plans to build a new township of global standard. It will benefit Kumaraswamy more as he has a lot of lands there.”

Internal reservation
Asked about internal reservation, he said, “Our party is committed to the promises we have made in our manifesto. It would be good if the various sub castes of SC/STs have a discussion among themselves and resolve the differences.”
District Congress Presidents’ meet on March 27
Stating that a meeting of district Congress presidents has been organised in Delhi on March 27, he said he would be attending the meeting as well. He added that all the MPs and other leaders would go to Sabarmathi Ashram in Ahmedabad for an AICC members’ meeting.

Pennar river meeting postponed
“The meeting on Pennar river scheduled for today has been postponed as Tamil Nadu boycotted the meeting and has asked for a fresh date. I have spoken to the people concerned on the phone. A fresh date for the meeting will be announced,” he said.

“Tamil Nadu had raised objections for Karnataka’s projects on the Pennar river basin. This meeting was scheduled to resolve this issue in the presence of the Union Jal Shakthi Minister. The Supreme Court had given 2-3 dates for the hearing but we were busy with the Session in Belagavi. This meeting was arranged in order to resolve the issue,” he added.
