H.D. Kumaraswamy Seeks Report on Malavalli Residential School Tragedy

New Delhi: Expressing deep concern over the tragic incident at a private residential school in T. Kagepura, Malavalli taluk, Mandya district, where a student lost their life due to contaminated food, Union Minister and Mandya MP H.D. Kumaraswamy has directed officials to take immediate action regarding the health of affected students.

The Minister has gathered detailed information about the incident from the Malavalli Tahsildar and other officials and personally inquired about the condition of hospitalized students receiving treatment.

Emphasizing the need for strict vigilance over drinking water and food quality during summer, he has instructed authorities to ensure strict monitoring of meals provided to children. Extending his condolences to the deceased student’s family, the Minister reiterated the importance of food safety in both government and private residential schools.

Kumaraswamy has directed the Tahsildar to enforce strict oversight on food safety measures and ensure accountability among concerned staff.

“I was deeply shocked upon learning about this incident. Most students in this residential school are from other states. I have instructed officials to ensure the best possible medical care for all affected children,” the Union Minister stated
