Bengaluru: Janata Dal (Secular) State President and Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy provided key insights to party MLAs on the strategy to be followed during the legislative session.
“Focus on discussing pro-people issues in the session. Prioritize exposing the government’s failures. We have already held discussions with our ally, BJP. MLAs from both parties must coordinate in both Houses and put up a united fight against the government,” the Union Minister directed.
At the Legislature Party meeting held on Sunday evening in Bengaluru under the leadership of Legislature Party Leader C.B. Suresh Babu, Kumaraswamy outlined key aspects for the MLAs. “Do not speak in the session without proper preparation. Speak with supporting documents. Pay close attention to the media. Use the session effectively to work for the people,” he advised.
“The Congress government has used the guarantee schemes more for political gain than for public welfare. For three to four months, they withhold payments under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, only to deposit the money into women’s bank accounts just before elections. This is nothing but deception by the government,” Kumaraswamy stated in the meeting.
He instructed MLAs to raise this issue effectively in the session.
“Congress had announced a ₹5,000 crore grant for Kalyana Karnataka and promised to formulate an action plan. However, forget the action plan—so far, not a single paisa has been released. The government continues to betray the people of Kalyana Karnataka and North Karnataka. You must fight against this as well,” Kumaraswamy instructed the legislators.
“Discuss the guarantee schemes. How much tax has the government collected? How much money has actually been spent on these schemes? Where is the remaining money that has to be allocated? The people have the right to know how their tax money is being used. The government has increased excise duties four times—question them on this,” he urged the MLAs.
