Bengaluru, Feb 17: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar today lashed out at the Leader of Opposition R Ashok for criticising his city rounds to inspect road construction.
“When BJP CMs were doing city rounds, R Ashok accompanied him. Was all that a gimmick? Was it for a photo shoot? BJP is jobless and hence it it is nitpicking,” he said while speaking to reporters at his Sadashivanagar residence. He was replying to R Ashok’s social media post that his city rounds was a photo shoot rather than a genuine inspection.
“We are doing our job. White topping is a big budget project. It is imperative for us to ensure that the project is progressing well and hence I wanted to I oversee it personally. We would like to complete the Rs 1700 crore project on time,” he said.
Asked about comments of Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on tunnel project, he said, “I don’t have much information on what he has said. We welcome quality suggestions from all sides. If the comments have a political overtone, we will handle that too.”
Asked about non-release of Anna Bhagya and Gruhalakshmi, he said, “It is pending for 3 months, it will be released soon. We walk the talk.”
Asked about Minister K N Rajanna’s comment that he was missing the AICC, he said, “I don’t want to comment on it now. I am off to a party event in Kerala. After that I am heading to Rajasthan to attend the ministers meet. I will comment on it once I am back “
