Discussions with legal experts on release of Cauvery water to TN: DCM D K Shivakumar

Bengaluru, July 12: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar today said that he held discussions with legal experts on releasing Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.

Speaking to reporters at Taj West End, he said, “We have had discussions with our legal team including Anil Dewan and Katharaki on the future course of action, we will soon have a discussion with the officials of the Irrigation department.” He was replying to a question on the decision taken by the Authority regarding release of water to Tamil Nadu.

Muda case politicised
Asked about BJP’s criticism of Muda case, he said, “BJP is doing politics. Their allegations are baseless, we will respond to them at an appropriate time. Whatever happened has happened during the BJP rule and we will fight this false propaganda.”

Asked about ED action against former minister Nagendra, he said, “SIT is already investigating the case, there was no need to a parallel investigation by the ED. I will speak about it after their investigation.”
