Bengaluru, Jan 03: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar today said that nodal officers would be appointed to expedite redressal of grievances.

Speaking to reporters at the public grievance redressal meet ‘Government at Your Doorstep’ at K R Pura, he said, “It is not just D K Shivakumar who has come here, all the officials from various departments are at your doorstep.

“The people of K R Pura and Mahadevapura have given their appeals to me. It is not possible to redress all the issues in one day. Drinking water, roads and sewerage and cleanliness would be taken up on a priority basis. Nodal officers would be appointed to oversee this. Individual grievances will be sent to the respective departments,” he said.

“There are many grievances related to guarantee schemes and pension. Many women have given their husbands’ phone numbers for Gruhalakshmi. I have asked the officials to look into it,”

The MLAs of the two assembly constituencies have raised many issues. Drinking water issues will be taken up on priority basis and the rest will be taken up in stages, he said.

Asked when the grievances will be resolved, he said, “All issues can’t be resolved in one day, it takes time. Pension and other individual appeals will be taken up on priority basis and the rest will be taken up later.”

Asked about complaints against corruption, he said, “There are some complaints about bribes for issuing ration cards in Food and Civil Supplies department. I have instructed the officials to take strict action.”
