No Need for Concern: DCM D K Shivakumar on Hoax Bomb Threats

Bengaluru, Dec 1: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar today assured that there was no need for concern due to hoax bomb threats to 15 schools of Bengaluru.

“The police are investigating hoax bomb threat emails sent to 15 schools of Bengaluru city and we are confident of catching the culprits in less than 24 hours,” he said while speaking to reporters after visiting Neev Academy, one of the schools which received hoax bomb threat.

The Bengaluru city Police Commissioner has already informed that it is a hoax threat, he said. However, the police aren’t taking any chances and the bomb disposal squads are combing the premises of all the schools which received bomb threats, parents need not worry, he added.
The cybercrime police are active and alert and hence they were able to track these bomb threats immediately and take necessary action, he said, responding to a reporter’s query. I am in regular touch with the police and there is nothing to worry about, he assured. Hoax threats can’t be taken lightly and a thorough investigation needs to be done every single time in every single case.

Exit Polls:

Responding to a reporter’s query on the Exit poll projections, Mr Shivakumar said, “I do not believe in exit polls personally. You all know what happened to the exit poll projections in Karnataka. Only those who spend time on the ground know the reality. Exit polls are sample based and do not reflect the entire picture of a state.”

Asked if Congress legislators will be housed in Bengaluru in view of hung assembly projections in some of the states, “I am confident that Congress party will come to power in most of the States including Rajasthan. We have to work as per the Party directives if it is needed.”

Asked about Infosys co-founder N R Narayana Murthy’s criticism of guarantee schemes, he defended saying, “His suggestions are part of the people’s development. It is eventually government’s decision. It is government’s responsibility to address issued faced by farmers and poor class in view of rising prices.”
