Bengaluru, Nov. 16: There are answers for all the questions of the man in the Vavhanas. The Basavanna’s Vachana ‘ Kalabeda Kolabeda’ must become their motto. Following this principle will help the man to lead a simple life with happiness and satisfaction, said former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
He was speaking at a function to release a book ” Kshana Hottu Animuttu” written by S.Shadakshari and the presentation of the 18th year’s Ramanashree Foundation orgasnised jointly by Akhila Sharana Sahithya Parishad and the Foundation here on Thursday.
He said everyone must think that Kannada literature would have lost something if the Sharana Sahithya did not come in the form of Vachanas. If the talks get some meaning it must have speech and conduct. There is science and technology but in that there must be a sense of belonging essay and that must be created. The Vachanas which have been contributed by the Sharanas in the simple Kannada are the permanent asset to Karnataka.
The former CM said equality lies in the Vachana ‘ Iva Nammava’ instead of ‘ Iva Naarava’. There is the essence of dharna in the Vachana ‘ Dayeye Dharmada Moolavaiah’ . Basavanna not only contributed for the Vachana Sahithya but also tried to bring in the experiences of other communities through the Vachanas. The 12th century social reformer removed the middlemen between the god and the man. This is the issue that needed a deep thinking. Through this, Basavanna has propaganda that there was no need for others in between self and self conscious.
He said the author of the book, Shadakshari has never felt dissatisfied and always mingle with everyone with satisfaction. This character is worth emulative
A different path of Siddaramaiah
Bommai said the main inspiration for the CM Siddaramaiah’s socialism has been Basavanna and the Vachanas. The CM has told several times that he strongly believe in the philosophy of Basavanna and naturally his works and talks are different from others. The responsibility of a real politician will be the upliftment of the socially oppressed people. If a politician aims at the next election, a statesman will think of the coming generation. ” We are seeing the thinking of Siddaramaiah even though he had been in the Opposition. His words and actions are understood by all. Presenting him the Sharana Sahithya award is very apt as it will further solidify Basavanna’s philosophy “.
