Bengaluru, October 10- The Chief Minister , Siddaramaiah suggested that priority should be given to the education of children of minority communities and directed to take steps to increase the amount of loan given to students studying medicine under Arivu Scheme. He was speaking at the review meeting of the Housing, Minority Welfare, Haj and Wakf Departments at Home Office Krishna today. The Chief Minister directed officers to submit a proposal for sanction of additional posts in accordance with the increase in the number of Morarji Desai residential schools and doubling the enrolment of students. Applications have been received beyond expectations for the various schemes of the Minority Development. The CM directed officials to prepare a seniority list of the eligible beneficiaries and distribute the facilities according to the availability of grants.
The Chief Minister suggested to prepare an action plan for Rs.1000 crore for the development of minority colonies under the Chief Minister’s Special Development Scheme and take up the work according to the priority list. Officials of Minority Department informed that out of the 19 budget announcements government orders have been issued in respect of 16 announcements. Housing Department: Chief Minister instructs to prepare policy- proposal to mobilize own resources It was directed to submit a proposal for resource mobilization, as the progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been slow . Due to the increase in the amount of beneficiaries under this scheme and the payment to the beneficiaries has been delayed. In this context, the Chief Minister asked to submit a proposal to formulate a policy for resource mobilization.
The CM suggested that necessary infrastructure should be provided on priority basis for the houses constructed under the one lakh housing scheme. Minister for Housing and Minority Welfare Zameer Ahmed Khan, Minister for Municipal Administration and Haj Rahim Khan, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Govindaraju, Naseer Ahmed, Deputy Chief Secretary, Economic Department L.K. Ateeq and other senior government officials were present.
