Hospete, July.01: Expressing his serious displeasure over the absence of the buildings for 19 departments in the newly formed Vijayanagar district, Housing, Minorities Welfare, and Disrtict-In-Charge Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan issued directions to open his temporary office in the Inspection Bungalow immediately.
“I don’t require such a big office. I am ready to put a chair in the deputy commissioner’s office and work. I have a dream of making the Vijayanagar district a model district. Reposing faith in me, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has given in charge of this district. I seek the cooperation of everyone”, he said in the first review meeting held here on Saturday.
Check drug menace
“There are complaints that drugs, ganja menace, gambling has increased in the district, illegal sand mining and mining is rampant. The police department must be dealt with such illegal activities with an iron hand. On Friday, nine persons were killed in a road accident. What RTO officials are doing? How can 20-25 persons be allowed in an autorickshaw? Why no one observed it”, the minister said.
