Bengaluru: Housing and Minorities Welfare Minister Zameer Ahmed has said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is a role model for him when it comes to participation in assembly and attendance in the House.
Speaking as a special invitee at a three-day training program for first-time newly-elected MLAs in Kshemavana on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Monday, he said except in case of an emergency.
Siddaramaiah Saheb was rarely absent from the proceedings of the House. So he is a role model for all of them. During the session, if we did not come to the House one day, why didn’t we come? This is a testimony to his creativity and enthusiasm to actively participate in the proceedings of the House.
Learning is continuous. Legislators, in particular, who have a great responsibility for making legislation, should be studied. These three days of training are very useful. There is a need for such a training camp. “On behalf of the MLAs, I would like to thank Speaker Khader for organizing the camp.
Whatever the work the MLAs do, take part in the training diligently for three days and listen to all the elders. This will help you find solutions to the problems of the people of the constituency for the next five years.”
It is easy to become an MLA for the first time. There are many factors like sympathy, anti-incumbency, opportunity for a new face, and so on. But if you want to get elected for a second term, you can only win by serving the people. During the session, you will also get useful information on how to bring to the notice of the government and the ministers the problems of the constituency and how to act as the voice of the people of the constituency.
