Bengaluru, May 20: The presence of a galaxy of leaders cutting across party spectrum but opposed to BJP at the swearing in ceremony of the Congress government is a clear indication that the Grand Old Party (GoP) is aiming at the consolidation of anti-BJP forces for 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

There were leaders from as many as nine parties – prominent among them being DMK (M.K.Stalin), National Conference (Farooq Abdullah), JDU (Nithish Kumar), CPM (Sitharam Yechury), D. Raja (CPI), Uddhav Thackeray (Shiv Sena) and Mehbooba Mufti (JKPDP) and several other smaller parties.

That the Congress managed to mobilize such a huge number all opposed to the BJP is a story by itself. All top Congress brass were present thus showing solidarity with Siddaramaiah and D. K. Shivakumar.

Another scores of party leaders sent in their best wishes and expressed solidarity.

Naturally and obviously, the Congress party is excited and buoyed by the response it received from non-BJP parties to its attempt to consolidate a grand alliance against the saffron party for 2024 parliamentary elections.

Prof Radhakrishna, Vice President was candid when he said, “Of Course, we will take the lead to forge a grand alliance against the BJP with the Congress at the head of the coalition”

Prof Radhakrishna was on record with The Newz Peg that his party has demonstrated that Modi is not invincible.
