New Delhi/Bengaluru, May 18: After holding several rounds of discussion on choosing the Chief Minister candidate for Karnataka, finally AICC has believed that they have broken the deadlock between Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar.
Siddaramaiah is likely to be the next Chief Minister of Karnataka, where as the Congress High-command have persuaded D K Shivakumar to be his deputy.
Reportedly, Siddaramaiah will be CM for the first 30 months, later DKS will be crowned as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.
DKS was hell-bent to snatch the CM post from Siddaramaiah. He had refused to take up the DCM post even after holding several meetings with AICC Chief Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi.
Finally, Kharge has decided to go with what the majority of legislators want. Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar have apparently been briefed about the formula in late-night meetings with Venugopal and Surjewala. The oath taking ceremony will be held in Bengaluru on 20th May.
Notably, it is also reported that DKS has refused to form 3 DCM posts. Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting called in Bengaluru today (18th May) at 7pm.
