Moodabidri, May 3: The ideological battle lines between BJP and Congress was drawn by Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he ended his speech here with the battle cry ‘Jai Bajrang Bali’ and thereby dared the Congress to ban the saffron outfit.

With Modi himself shouting slogans in favour of Bajrang Bali at the top of his voice, he sought to send a clear message and an assurance to the cadre to go ahead with confidence on the issue of Bajrang Dal.

“There is no need for us to be apologetic about Bajrang Dal,” Modi sought to say, when he raised both his hands and sent out a battle cry to his cadre.

Unlike his first rally at Humnabad, Kudachi and Vijayapura (Bijapur), Modi was all energetic – both in his body language as well as in the delivery of his speech – at Moodabidri as well as in Ankola.

There was also an element of qualitative difference in Modi’s speech.

After every pause and at the commencement of his next paragraph, Modi used Kannada words such as “Snehithare, Bandhu Bhaginiyare, etc, etc” This was something special which was not seen in his earlier speeches.

In fact, Modi has made it a practice to shout a Kannada slogan and also make the people shout with him – “Ee Baariya Nirdhara, Poorna Bahumatha Dha Sarkara” (This time decision, full majority BJP government).

This is to drive home the point to give a decisive mandate to the BJP with clarity and conviction and not opt for hotch-potch arrangement.

Moodabidri being close to Udupi, the coastal as well as temple town, Modi chose to highlight his government’s contribution to the cause of fishermen community.
