Bengaluru, May 2: Going by the character and content of the Congress manifesto it is clear that the banned PFI has dictated and scripted the Congress manifesto, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswas Sharma said here on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters at BJP media centre, Sharma said except for rank appeasement of Muslims and Christian, there is nothing meaningful and concrete for the common man.

“All this talk of providing free rice, free electricity, free bus travel are fake that are impractical and hence cannot be implemented,” the Assam chief minister added.

Himanta Biswas Sharma sought to turn the tables on the Congress on the issue of PFI.

“If Congress thinks that PFI is also dangerous like Bajrang Dal, then why didn’t it ban when it was in power? This is all hypocrisy,” he said.

Describing the Congress manifesto as ‘dangerous cocktail’ of communalism that has potential to disturb the harmony, Himanta Biswas Sharma said the Congress party is playing a dangerous game for electoral gains.

Complimenting the state BJP for announcing implementation of NRC, the Assam Chief Minister said his state has also implemented NRC “in the interest of the country”

“The mood in the entire country is consolidating in favour of NRC. The Congress will pay a heavy price for opposing the NRC,” the Assam Chief Minister said.

He exuded confidence that the BJP will return to power in Karnataka with comfortable majority.
