Bengaluru, April 29: The Congress party has described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech as “meaningless and empty rhetoric”

In an exclusive chat with The Newz Peg, Congress Vice President Prof Radhakrishna said except for Congress-bashing on non-issue, there was absolutely nothing in Modi’s speech.

“An election speech must always have two components. First, highlight the past achievements and performances of the last five years. Second, give vision and direction about what the party intends to do in the next five years if voted to power. Both these two vital components were conspicuous by there absence in Prime Minister’s speech,” Prof Radhakrishna explained.

According to this Congress leader, the Prime Minister had nothing “meaningful and concrete” to highlight the state government’s performance and hence was “at loss” of ideas during his speech.

Prof Radhakrishna, who is also Vice Chairman of the Manifesto Drafting Committee of the Congress party, said Modi’s maiden visit for the election campaign has been “a damp squib” with nothing to offer to the state.

“A leader, during election rallies, holds out promise based in order to provide an idea of how the governance is going to be and what are the policies it is going to pursue in the next five years. Modi has conspicuously failed in this task,” Prof Radhakrishna explained.

Prof Radhakrishna was of the view that Modi’s Congress-bashing is going to boomerang on the saffron party.

“People have made up their mind to bring Congress back to power. This is the ground reality. Modi must understand and realise this ground reality,” Prof Radhakrishna said.
