Bengaluru, April : The process of polarising the election campaign on the basis of Hindu – Muslim commenced with Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath telling a huge gathering that there is a relationship between UP and Karnataka right from the days of Tretha Yuga and criticizing the Congress for being soft on PFI.

“Lord Ram was born in my state. Lord Hanuman was born in Karnataka. The two states have relationship right from the days of Tretha Yuga,” Yogi said, while addressing a public meeting at Mandya.

Yogi further said that his government has provided land to the Karnataka government in Ayodhya to construct a guest house. “Let’s firm up our relationship further ” Yogi Adityanath added.

The Uttar Pradesh chief minister who has taken on UP mafia dons lambasted the Congress for supporting the Popular Front of India (PFI) and SDPI.

“Modi and Amit Shah destroyed PFI but the Congress in Karnataka is seen supporting these two outlawed organizations.

“The people of Karnataka have not forgotten the fact that it was Siddaramaiah government which withdrew cases filed against PFI leaders,” Yogi Adityanath said.

The tone, tenor and content of Yogi’s speech suggested that he wanted to strident while speaking against the Congress and also polarize the election campaign.

He called upon the people of Karnataka to vote double-engine government if they wanted “UP-Model” government.
