T. Narsipur, April 25: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday said the upcoming elections is not to elect a government but to bring back the state’s glory and pride as well as protect the interest of the youth.
Speaking in a public meeting at Yalavarahundi in T.Narsipur taluk, Priyanka accused the BJP government of looting the state exchequer and destroying the communal harmony in the state.

“It is high time that you decide to get rid of this corrupt and inefficient government in the future interest of your children,” the Congress general secretary added.
Launching a broadside on the state BJP government for making the life of the minorities ‘miserable’ due to Hijab and removal of reservation, Priyanka Gandhi said the BJP government in Karnataka was also anti-farmer and anti-women.
“Except talking about the waiver of farm loans, no concrete and meaningful decision has been taken to waive off farm loans,” Priyanka said.

She called upon the people not to fall prey to the high-sounding and fancy slogans such as ‘double-engine’ government. “Bring Congress back to power and see the qualitative difference in governance. We will genuinely care for the people,” the AICC general secretary added.
She had a word of appreciation to Congress candidate Dr H. C. Mahadevappa when she described him as ‘a genuine and conscientious’ leader who is committed for the people’s welfare.
